EAE Motors ("EAE Motors", "we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our showroom, why, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect
- Contact details you give us in a form, by phone, email or WhatsApp: name, mobile number, email address and your preferred way to be contacted.
- Details of your enquiry: the car you are interested in, test-drive dates, your trade-in or the car you are selling (make, model, year, mileage, condition, photos, your town or suburb) and finance preferences such as deposit, term and an income range.
- Technical information: your browser sends standard information (such as IP address) when you use the site. We use it to keep the site secure and to stop spam.
- Cars you save to My Garage, cars you compare and your finance settings are stored only in your own browser (local storage) and are not sent to us unless you include them in an enquiry.
If you apply for finance you may choose to upload documents the banks need: your ID, driver's licence, payslips, bank statements and proof of address. They are stored privately on our web server, outside the public website, can be opened only by our finance team after logging in, are never sent by email, and are shared only with the finance houses you apply through. Ask us at any time to delete them.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry, arrange test drives, value your trade-in and help you buy or finance a car.
- To submit a finance application to banks and finance houses, only when you ask us to.
- To meet legal obligations, including the National Credit Act, FICA and vehicle registration requirements, when you buy a car.
- To tell you about similar cars, but only if you ask us to or have bought from us before; you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only with banks and finance houses (when you apply for finance), insurers (when you ask for cover), licensing authorities (when you buy a car), and service providers who host this website and our email, under confidentiality obligations.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a sale are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Sales and finance records are kept for as long as the law requires.
Cookies and analytics
The site works without tracking cookies. If analytics or advertising tags are switched on, they measure visits in aggregate to help us improve the site. Maps load from Google only when you choose to show a map.
Your rights
You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us using it for marketing. Email eaemotors@yahoo.co.za. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
